After
harvest or salvage, using the most eco friendly ways possible,
the wood is milled according to what it will best be suited for.
If the figure
is vivid and perfect and the wood white and flawless it is milled
into thickness' suitable for music wood. We have custom cut for harp stock
and supply fine furniture makers and wood working artisans of every sort.
If the figure is light
or imperfect, or if the wood is stained or spalted or has burls and flaws
in it, it is milled leaving the natural edges on when possible, into stock
for our own products and for sale to those who see it's added character.
We use dehumidification rooms to dry all our
wood. The ends are waxed and drying time depends on the thickness of the
pieces. Some slabs having taken as long as a year to reach the desired dryness.
When the wood is dry, down to 10 % or
less humidity, it's ready to be whatever it wants to be.
